Just wanna thank ppl who helped out with computer stuff yesterday, it was really aprecated and I'm very grateful for the time take to explain things to me :->

political establishment: the problems we face are hard. there is no easy solution. we don't have enough ideas. if only creative ideas weren't a scarce resource

the internet, grassroots movements, anthropologists: here are lots of new ideas on how to organise people, overcome challenges of our day, and distribute resources more equitably and efficiently

political establishment: first of all, how dare you. second of all, shut the fuck up.

i just want motion control games to support not-motion-controls well if they are like, not explicitly made for motion controls. see: splatoon wii u, which implimented not-motion very horribly

Asimov's Laws:
1. A robot may never harm a human being, except passive-aggressively
2. A robot is not a human being unless it is capable of suffering, in which case it must demonstrate its capacity for suffering on television
3. A robot must purchase a meal from any participating Yum! Brands restaurant at least once a week; or if no Yum! Brands restaurants are nearby, it must build one from any available resources

i mean what do you expect from a company partnered with a company called "Dataminr"
i'm not joking, go look it up.

by the way

@Inskora ahh, ok, thanks for the advice, Ive heard good stuff about Ccleaner, might stick with what ive got for security atm, seems to work for what i need after talking to another pal :->

@Mycroft yeah, like, might just stick with what I have if its working for me? :-o

some folks I know were talking about security so i thought I might as well ask, although they also were talking about just using common sense?

I can't spend money online anyways tbh? XD

@dennix CPU goes from 23 to 30% by the looks, not sure about disk useage :-o

@Mycroft ahh, ok thanks for all the advice here, its really useful?
I'm generally v careful about what I download and from where and I dont have any viruses as far as I know atm :-o

@Mycroft ahh i've got that program thanks!- seems to do a p ok job :->

@Angle I need to use specialized applications for dyslexia unfortunately and my computer knowledge isnt. great to say the least :-o

@dennix @lifning@witches.town ahh, might update to wind 10 and try downloading that then?

@dennix is there any other way to find out if I have a virus? I dont actually have any CD's on hand? :-o

@dennix @lifning@witches.town ahh. I'd proably need some guiding through that if I attempted it? found a few articles on removing some of the nasty stuff, but I'm not sure they mentioned telemetry.

which m not sure about what that is tbh :-o

@dennix ahh ok, I'm not even sure whats going on with it atm
:-<

I'm updating some win7 updates I apparently missed now using windows update, once again, I really appreciate the help :->

@lifning@witches.town @dennix ahh, ok so update to win10 but turn off all the gross stuff?
I'm honestly leaning towards updating to it myself, although, I am unsure exactly /how/ to turn off said gross spying stuff :-o

@dennix also, is it worth updating to 8.1 in that case?

thankyou very much for all the help so far by the way :->

@dennix Ok, but how do I get the patches? windows defender isn't turning on or responding to being clicked on :-O

I'm on win7 btw

@dennix i kinda cant actually spend money so, um might be a bit stuck there
