@greermahoney I do tend to jump in if I think my help won't escalate the situation. Sometimes a well meaning bystander can drive a situation all to hell worse than not getting involved.
@mike I am pretty much loving it because it is a multicultural mélange on meth. Plus, by beating on it and poking it with sticks and such, I can help make this the cool hangout joint I want it to be.

everything else aside I do really appreciate mastodon, its developers, and the stuff they are doing. I'm really excited precisely because masto is open source & has so many varied people working on it
More in line with my rustic theme:
Even if you're not a "rustic" person, it's good to learn basic survival skills and first aid
They may save your life or someone else's
At the very least, you should learn how to find water that's safe to drink, how to make a fire, and how to escape the elements
No one knows what the future may hold. While you may not be warding off zombies any time soon, Mother Nature can be just as scary and lethal
