@Samizdata I must confess, I dragged my parents to that movie as a kid, and I will pay dearly for it on my karmic ledger.
@Samizdata If you look at the themes of the movie, it was really about the ennui of suburban American life, and how consumerism acts as a false promise to fill that void. Appropriately enough, they also sold action figures about it.
@blueminder But they neglected to sell action figures of the inexplicably English attractive redhead in the suede bikini, who was obviously only there to keep the Dads from walking out in frustrated boredom.
