@sungo @Samizdata Given that people at google formerly had a choice of OS and many people chose to use IE6 and Windows XP that should give you an idea of why coders should never be trusted with sysadmin jobs unless they can demonstrate competence.
@Elizafox That's why we have coders AND admins. I am an out of date admin, and a miserable coder. I gave up on coding when I discovered admin work.
@Samizdata @Elizafox I automate all the things. That's what I'm great at. Put me in a complex system and I'll figure it out and automate away all its weaknesses, including its fucknuts crazy developers.
