working with can be a pain in the ass.....

Since is hard to achieve. One solution I propose is having an alter ego online.

Create another email under another name and use a different username on a browser that leaves no trace on your machine through a .

They might be able to you but not your alter ego if you manipulate what you share. Lie online all the time and they won't be able to detect the truth from it. Provide miss information. It is the only way.

Think if gus from breaking bad having 2 lives.

🎺.☕️ And BTW: the reason I'm boosting toots about how admins have access to your DMs is because you deserve to be aware. That's why it's nice to be on an instance where you can trust the admin.

In case it's not clear: I will never sell your data or give this instance to someone who will. You all are my *family*, and I protect my family.

If for whatever reason you *didn't* trust me, I'd rather give the SSH keys to someone you did and give up the instance than keep being admin.

Y'know what's nice? Seeing the "0 requests blocked" on my adblock widget for this tab.

Tweetdeck's only been loaded for an hour or two on another, and it's got >3k ads blocked.

Goodness only knows what kind of horrors I'd be exposed to if I allowed ads to load over there.

How would authorities track down a malicious user? would they need access to the instance they're posting from? what if they post from multiple instances at the same time? what if they are the instance owners and just delete it before getting in trouble?

How can instance owners protect themselves from people uploading illegal content? what can they do if a user does post illegal content?

its all fun and games right now but trolls are sure to appear at some point

I might set up an auto backup service for my account on my homelab.

if the instance I'm on goes down, do I loose everything?

I'm assuming this is mostly based on trust. that the instance owner won't mess with you or your data.
