Donald Trump called on Sunday for the US to abandon its judicial system and summarily deport people who enter the country.

The president attacked the rule of law amid sustained criticism of his administration’s handling of immigration at the southern border.

“When somebody comes in, we must immediately, with no Judges or Court Cases, bring them back from where they came,” Trump said in a tweet, while being driven to his golf course in Virginia.

Dungeons & Dragons is in the business of selling fantasy. Not the stuff with the magic and monsters -- the part where you *actually believe* that you and several other likeminded adults will be able to coordinate your schedules on a regular basis.

Imagine two people telling you about keywords: a librarian and an SEO consultant.

One will tell you that knowledge can be structured for easy retrieval, and should therefore be prepared in a way that assists in future humans finding what they *need*.

The other will tell you it is a useless field of metadata, but if you insist on using it here are the ways to game "the system"...

Be a librarian! Build your legacy, not on the bones of commercialism, which while seemingly immortal, will rot away, taking your culture with it. Build on community, with people you can connect with in other contexts aside from the overstimulated circus where everyone meets today.

Let's build cozy cafés and anarchist book shops on the web! Evacuate the corporate skyscrapers, they aren't up to standards, and your life is miserable each moment you spend there...

@pzmyers I blame the internet. Blogs, comment sections, and social media, for all they've expanded the average person's opportunity to express themselves, have also lent themselves all too easily to random cranks spouting arrant bullshit.

The next time someone decides to tell me that the reason things are the way they are is because of "The Free Market" I'm going to politely ask them if anyone paid them for this opinion.

And if the answer is "no" then I'm going to say "then why are you giving it to me for free, or is that precisely what it's worth: nothing".

First, they drove her out of a Mexican restaurant, now people are protesting against Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen at her Virginia home by blasting out audio of crying immigrant children on her street. I know there's a lot of negativity right now about the Fediverse but I just want to say how much I appreciate that people here actually seem to talk about things that interest them and have genuine conversations and let themselves be vulnerable rather than trying to make every toot some kind of carefully engineered witticism or snarky comeback for popularity points
