@argumatronic This of it this way:
x= 7/0
will throw an exception in most languages, no IO needed.

Me: Adds "on delete cascade" foreign key to a table
Architect: "Don't do that, support likes to delete things by hand and that might make it harder for them to recover accidental deletions"
Me: 😱

Can anybody tell me, are the OS holy wars still being waged? I've been hearing MS vs Linux Vs Mac rumblings that I haven't heard for a decade. If they are coming back, is it the old guard reliving the battles of their youth? Is it a new generation who's never learned the that these wars are futile?

@Averly if he wasn't selling my product, I might have. 😉

Is it just me or does anybody else feel the need to fill their ears with good, loud music after listening to a salesman for even a couple seconds?

I just witnessed a garbage truck pick up a trashcan while still moving, empty it, then put it down a dozen or so feet down the street. All without coming to a full stop.

We need a replacement for Bluetooth that can handle multiple input sources simultaneously. Or am I the only one who listens to music on my computer but would like to answer my phone with my wireless ear buds when it rings?

Weird coincidence: one of my 1st professional jobs was writing programs in Ada, now I'm bootstrapping a CMS to be compliant with the ADA.

For the love of all that's holy. Make sure your tests run in a vacuum as well as in the whole suite!

@rateldajer I'd love to see that and the resulting boost to the economy, but I'm thinking the existing unions will throw enough money at politicians to pass laws against fully autonomous vehicles.

@rateldajer I doubt the unions would allow this to come to pass that soon - we're looking at 40+ years out.

twitter.com/elonmusk/status/85 This is amazing - I wonder what this will do to the economy? Will diesel prices drop, making diesel cars more attractive to the avg. US buyer? Will the average trucker even take this seriously? I hope so, but time will tell.

@schestowitz I doubt it too, but I like giving people the benefit of the doubt - It allows me to lose faith in humanity on a daily basis.

@schestowitz Count any computer with an internet connection as an attacker.(?)

Holy shit, Marionette.JS documentation is horrible. I wish everything was as good as underscore.js!

@Myrkskog while really cool, I'd think their development money would have been better spent removing flash from their site. (theverge.com/2017/3/24/1505228)

Internet can be awesome, Fedex now lets you create pieces from your tracking number.
And if you don't have one... You can fake one

Damn, strongly typed languages are so much easier to get "right." Why did scripted languages even rise this high, this fast? Is it because there's a lower barrier to entry? Because the early web was more wild west than the engineering discipline it should have been?
