I've been processing my feelings about this the last week. I've been complicit, with many other, about someone we know who has behaviours resembling a sexual predator.

We've all known about it, but we kept this person on our social media friend lists. They recently posted something in support of #metoo and I finally snapped. I was mostly mad at myself for not saying something sooner.

I encourage everyone to not be silent, like I was.

@jason it's arguably far more debilitating than constant traffic.

@apLundell I took your meaning as comparing the action itself (when you said it was similar when christian groups boycott something).

My meaning than, the action itself doesn't need to be different. The application of value to the outcome of the event is yours... I can't comment on that.

@apLundell sometimes it isn't about being different. For some people the act of doing something at all helps bring people together that might not have previously. Sometimes it's a galvanizing event that leads toward another outcome. We can't rightly predict what all the possible repercussions could be, or if they have any value at all.

Even if it leads nowhere, I'll laud the desire to try.

@mogwai_poet I... dunno. There are a *lot* of assumptions the writer of that article is making. That statement itself is making a pretty hefty assumption.

Policy makers are looking at this as a cheaper alternative to Welfare. Capitalism/Democracy already punishes and exploits people like this with programs like "Welfare to work" that offload menial/minimum wage jobs to people on welfare.

It's a mostly positive article but... a lot of conclusions and assumptions about wealth/power.

I've been away from here for awhile myself, but I've seen a lot more people talking about alternatives to twitter with the boycott happening today.

I've become increasingly alarmed with the frequency at which dangerous rhetoric is dismissed, and real problems are ignored. I really hope we find a way to halt this slide before we all tumble over the cliff. =/

I'm also fairly certain that the voice actor for the lead character in Evil Within 2 is Canadian.

There is too much to play these days! In addition to having to finish Original Sin 2 still, the expansion for Grim Dawn just launched this week, and Evil Within 2 is also out now.

With Extra Life coming up pretty soon, I might just be spending a good chunk of that time just playing through stuff I *haven't* finished yet. We'll see.
