I'm out of town for the weekend exactly when a bunch of great stuff came out. I was able to login for a bit and try out the new #Destiny2 dungeon, but the computer I have isn't great for this.

I have this idea for a show I want to call 'The Daily Decompression' which I would do while playing Hardspace: Shipbreaker. I've been putting together ideas and doing research on the topics for a few months, and I'm at a point where I want to test one out to see if it works.

I felt like starting with an episode talking about how I'll be approaching the subject, and one of the earliest examples I engaged with. This was the comparison for how the world looked at the invasion of East Timor and the US bombing of Cambodia in the 70's.

This week in #videogames the new season of Destiny 2 launches, and it looks pretty good! I am pleased I knew nothing about it before logging in briefly last night to look around.

Also Hardspace: Shipbreaker launched into 1.0! If you like a story about the labour movement in your sci-fi maybe check it out!

I'm going to keep doing these, but I won't post these in the thread anymore. It's just starting to feel kinda weird.

I've been playing around with this idea for around 6 months or so. I was playing a game called Hardspace: Shipbreaker pretty regularly as I enjoyed how calming deconstructing a complex system could be before going to bed.

I had this idea that it might be fun to deconstruct space ships in the game while also deconstructing how issues affecting us are presented in mass media. I really wanted a way to talk about how media producers consistently modify how they present information to achieve goals set by the people who own them. It's not a new concept by any stretch, but I thought this could be another way of talking about this issue while livestreaming on #twitch.

Ever since I was a kid I've had this desire to have a radio show or something like that. This was something reinforced watching a show called "Northern Exposure" where one of the characters had their own radio broadcast they did from their home.

Ever since I started broadcasting on twitch I've wanted to do something more structured. Putting this together is complicated, and trying to figure out how to control the clips while playing the game at the same time is going to be a challenge. It just seemed like a fun idea I wanted to try.

I don't know if it will be any good or not... that part isn't up to me. I guess I'll find out in about a month once I'm finished assembling the pieces!

Had a nice night with my husband giving me an early birthday present! A replacement chair for one that was about 6 years old by this point, and was starting to wear out.

Work is stressful as always. It can be difficult working in a non-profit with a board the changes every year and can have wildly different views with what they want to do with their positions. Especially when they commonly have plans with what to do with me. That's... always fun.
