@gargron I have been looking at the Lists feature and the "Move to a different account" feature (it is also named redirect and migration further in the UI) and I feel they are useful, but not quite getting how they work.
Are there posts anywhere or docs that explain a bit more what they do; or will there be some forthcoming?
@zigg Rachel's is awesome! Systems/Layers is a great gateway album

@freemancw @greedy I have kinda been doing this as my "default" setting, honestly. I currently have 4 instance accounts, but two of them are considered "backup".
I have been using the #progressivewebapp version of #mastodon on the phone and that has been pretty okay. However, I have been thinking of making multiple accounts to claim my identity/branding there, but using one as my main "interface". Otherwise, I keep to the default setting.
@greedy I think it all depends on
- What you want out of #mastodon
- If you have interests that do/do not overlap
- What your interests are and if you want to reach out to the interwebs for it
- How much time you have
I am sure there are other things to ask... Obviously I am still mulling it all over myself
@LeftCoast I like the cut of your jib!! I and the significant other will be joining you in spirit later this evening.
I now wonder about just keeping accounts on more populated instances to "peek in" on their local timelines; finding interesting people. Then following those on my "primary" instance of choice. Otherwise, how would you find some of these people without scouting ahead?
@kensanata @technomancy For the others playing the "home version" of this game:
I am starting to wonder about having more than one account. It seems many of the tech people I follow are either into gaming or open to it. All the gaming people are into technology or open to it. The introduction of Lists in 2.1.0 is something I want to explore.
Considering consolidating to one #mastodon instance. Opinions?
Happy little bone chewers!
@ilpianista @loke If you are on already, you should join the open team keybasefriends. They have channels for general talk about it as well as specifics to kbfs and feature requests.
@aparrish I can't recommend Curve (esp. Doppleganger) and Pale Saints enough! Blonde Redhead and Eagulls for recent additions to the genre.
@aparrish Have you checked out the other great #shoegaze luminaries?
Heck, many people should get a good sampling of this genre:

...yes, yes, it is pitchfork; but it did have a good list sample. 😏
@kensanata I try not to be tin-foil-hat about it, but I do read enough security things due to my systems admin job that it is just a good idea to check. OBS, for example had an issue that I reported to them a couple years ago.
They were pretty happy to have that reported since it IS their way of making money.
🤓
@kensanata I put any shopping site through that before any purchase esp if I haven't been there in a while.
It is nice to have friendly admins respond back!
@aparrish Souvlaki is such a great album from them. I listened to it a good deal when I was younger. This is definitely on my list this week...
@kensanata Well, you are steps ahead of me for sure! I am still in cautious reader/education mode!
