What's everyone's favorite 'work' #music? I used to be into Metal, but lately I've just been firing up Dragonette on Google Music and hitting 'start radio'.
@Phancypants I listen to insrtumental hip-hop beats on spotify. Repetitious.
@Phancypants currently listening to Born of Osiris. I have terrible taste in music
@jerry Not a fan of the vocals because of personal preference... but holy hell that's some good drumming.
@Phancypants yeah, agree. I like the tempo and that it's not whiny. Also like Parkway Drive, Miss May I, and August Burns Red.
@jerry I destroyed a lot of hearing standing 2' from the speakers at the loudest shows I can find. I think it's the reason my musical tastes have shifted because the growl-metal style is incomprehensible to me. #NoRegrats
It's probably the reason why my go-to "Everything is on fire" album is currently the new DOOM soundtrack! Gimme that double-bass!
@Phancypants I find that as I get older, the music I like keeps getting faster and more aggressive. I can't imagine what I will be listening to at the time I'm 60 (not so far off)
@jerry *Fire up the monster truck engine in his office*
"Finally, I can focus!"
Slow Day: Baba Yetu Acapella Radio
Firefighting or Intense Projects: Hamilton Soundtrack
@Qantumentangled I've heard awesome things about Hamilton, but I've stayed away from the soundtrack in the hopes that one day I'll see the musical. Does it stand up without the stage presence?
@Qantumentangled @Phancypants
Okay, so Hamilton is not like most other musicals. 95%+ of the story is all music. So listening to the soundtrack will give the entirety of the plot. I bought tickets to see it next year, but we still listen to the whole soundtrack in one session at least once per week.
In my opinion the show is going to be better BECAUSE I know the songs, so I can absorb the whole thing without also learning the whole story.
It's a very dense story.
@Qantumentangled I'll pick up the soundtrack then!
I'm listening to a lot of the stuff from Igorrr, but I'm not sure if that's something you would like :P
@Phancypants lately I've been listening to St Vincent a lot. she's rockin
