@jannamark 😊 She is 16 years old but still looks and acts like a kitten half the time!

Well, that worked. So here she is trying to catch a bird.

I'm getting errors when I try to post more than one picture. Here's a test post with one photo, it's my cat watching birds.

@miramarco Yikes, I thought that kind of thing only happened in comedy representations of the workplace

I need some kind of out-of-the-loop guide here. First it was the pineapples, then it was the witches, now it's

@tiffsming Yeahhh... I felt I knew what was going on then I was away for a bit and came back and it was all pineapples and witches and I'm confused

You know mastodon is good when even Dr. DOOM want to toot 😂

Testing brain.fm. I like it so far. Is it worth paying for though? Anybody had good results?

Who wants to see my cat and my khajiit checking each other out?

I just went around and did some basic nmap-ing on the most popular Mastodon instances, and there's some seriously sketchy stuff in there. Publicly reachable Postgres servers, tons of open internal HTTP ports, SSH with password login, multiple Mastodon instances that seem to be running on mail server VMs, …

I guess if you're just running a single-user instance for yourself, sure, but those are all 2000+ user instances.

@Pedalville This, all the way.

People actually hear you on here. Twitter/Facebook are pretty insular unless you're popular—you mostly talk to your friends. Sure, you can reply in comment threads, but nobody's gonna find your stuff.

Mastodon opens up its whole world to you. You get updates from ppl you'd never have found otherwise—and they can find you.

I've seen people talk about how social media feels like screaming into a void. Mastodon doesn't, and that's a heady experience.

Woke up this morning thinking about Mastodon. I love how I'm excited about this thing but can't really explain why.

I totally get the 90's usenet comparison - it's that giddy feeling of a new world opening up, on *our* terms.
