You ever go to clean your eyeglasses and, after doing what you think is a great job, you hold them up to the light to find you seemingly have smeared them with a combination of Vaseline and Crisco?

It's #biergarten season in #Philly so I'm here, on the #Delaware , drinking #beee and enjoying the sights. I can't express how much I love this city and given the chance again to move from central Florida to PA I would do it every time.

Very strange to see a commercial from TD Ameritrade that plays a montage of a father interacting with and watching his infant son grow up, with "Cat's in the Cradle" playing in the background. Which means that however many people were involved in making and approving that commercial is exactly equal to how many people there are who don't know that that song is about a dad that's never around.

So I just saw what amounts to a political ad, in a non-election year, from the America First Institute, touting #Trump overseas visit (the one where he exemplified the boorish American stereotype) as "making America safe again". My hope, my dream, my prayer to the FSM, is that this is an anomaly by groups who need to desperately spin a stillborn presidency as successful and not a new trend. I can't handle year round political ads.

So, June 6th, 1944. One of those Big Deal Days in history. The sort that get a name, all caps. A reminder, as I'm an American and self-centered, of what happens not only when the US remembers its obligation to and shared destiny with Europe but also what happens (looking at every day prior to June 6th, 1944) when we try the isolationist thing. Which path do we want to travel on June 6th, 2017?

I can't believe I'm so dumb: watching #EPA head #Pruitt (like Sessions he has a baby head on a grown up body. Weird) on #MorningJoe and the mental gymnastics needed to not admit #climatechange is man-made were stunning. I'm dumb because it didn't occur to me that the reason they don't admit it is means admitting we can stop it. I'm sorry, world, for pretending I'm smarter than I am. It shouldn't have taken me that long to come to that realization.

Watching S3E2 of #Bloodline . Words can't express my joy that, in addition to the darkness and mumbling of the season premiere, we now have the added bonus of rain. I want to be able to enjoy the show but if I can't hear and I can't see then why am I watching?

For hundreds, if not thousands, of years young men have been convinced by more powerful men to kill themselves for specious reasons. It's tempting to think that we live in unique times in this regard but history says otherwise.

#WonderWoman was very, very good. Facing absurd expectations of somehow making it "acceptable" to have a woman lead a superhero flick from those who would overthink popcorn movies (a hurdle never foisted on male driven comic book films) it is a solid, entertaining watch. #Gadot is outstanding and pretty badass, no "for a woman" qualifier needed. She is awesome, full stop. That, at its heart, it is an anti-war film (something uncommon for most films of this sort) is gravy. This is a good start.

Good news! I woke up and saw on the news that all the coal mines reopened and manufacturers decided the possibility of a Terminator-style robot uprising was too much so they're hiring everyone back at $50/hour! #maga #sickofwinning #sarcasm

And also: when the history books are written a big portion of how China passed the US will be explained as the United States saying "Nah, bro, I'm good" when it came to combating #climatechange while #China was all too willing to step up. #ParisAccord #Trump #prettyfuckingterrible #hehassmallhands

So we have effectively ceded leadership on #climatechange to the EU and China. There is money in the innovation needed to combat climate change and #Trump has left it on the table. Leadership #fail. #maga? #ParisAccord
