What's E.T. short for?
Because he's only got little legs!
@Averly Pfft. Candy is immortal. Probably. You'll be fine.
More than perhaps ever before, the tomorrow I wake up to will be uncharted territory. Here's to old dogs and new tricks.
@fortune Probably a kidney.
What's the weather like out there?
"It's hot! Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest things is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking."
Well, tell me what it feels like.
"Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's damn hot! It's so damn hot, I saw little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?" https://octodon.social/media/h8QDEnmgc4LnuGbCZRE
@jalefkowit fake news! His disapproval rating with me has always been at least 60%.
@jalefkowit Love that photo, and good on you for posting what I believe is the unenhanced version.
I remove my glasses when I don't want to feel vulnerable. Why is that? Also, I have now tooted 2x (in a row, consecutively) about glasses. Life sure is exciting.
You ever go to clean your eyeglasses and, after doing what you think is a great job, you hold them up to the light to find you seemingly have smeared them with a combination of Vaseline and Crisco?
@jalefkowit Having just recently seen the UK election unfold, is there a value in that style of governing, where you have to win to rule?
@emergent_seas Boardwalk, Waffle, Curly
@emergent_seas Even with all the extra characters available on Mastodon I still don't have enough space to discuss the wrongness of that photo.
@jalefkowit I was a big fan of Sega Sports' NFL 2Kx series. They consistently put out a superior product but lost the sales battle. Then one year Sega decided to sell it for $19.95, unheard of. EA was on the verge of losing their long-standing hegemony. Rather than compete fairly EA paid an unholy amount of money for an exclusive NFL license, 10 years. Since EA decided to throw money at a problem instead of innovating, I swore not to give them any more of mine. EA free for 10+ years.
It's #biergarten season in #Philly so I'm here, on the #Delaware , drinking #beee and enjoying the sights. I can't express how much I love this city and given the chance again to move from central Florida to PA I would do it every time.
@jalefkowit The Girl in the Fireplace is where Tennant gets traction.
100 years ago, rich people had cars and everybody else had horses.
Today, everybody have a car but only rich people have horses.
@jalefkowit Curious. Every Doctor, save the current iteration, had always found a way to weasel into my heart - each in their own special way. ESPECIALLY Tennant, who brought a unique humanity to the role. Which is odd for an alien I suppose but, without thinking too much about it, I guess good writing is supposed to show us reflections of ourselves even if it's in an alien.
Very strange to see a commercial from TD Ameritrade that plays a montage of a father interacting with and watching his infant son grow up, with "Cat's in the Cradle" playing in the background. Which means that however many people were involved in making and approving that commercial is exactly equal to how many people there are who don't know that that song is about a dad that's never around.
