I agree that the best thing you can do is create a peer revised grey list of instances or users, and try to get admins to vow to implement it. Any instance that follows the list, joins the micofederation.

@yair I worry that, because sunk cost intensifies with every toot and there is no way to transfer accounts, people will really dig in on issues relating to their instance's relationship to the fediverse. They cant leave, so they have to fight for what they want. I hope its not that bad.

I think that only about one third of the mastodon community uses photos. It is of course, impossible to tell if they are actually photos of the users, but I think we can assume.
