I saw a request to block whole instances because they speak a different language. I say why not get some translation api like google translate or bing so that other languages could be translated?

Whenever the Mastodon new car smell wears off lets all remember these past couple of weeks where we all worked to be inclusive and supportive of each other, where we gave every new member a pineapple as a welcome gift, and where we enthusiastically created more than EIGHT HUNDRED small communities in the hope that everyone could have a place where they felt at home.

Itโ€™s helpful to understand why people misunderstand or even dislike a distributed service like this.

Lots of the problems you encounter could be solved by documenting it better or have a clearer user interface, some others probably need more teaching in why distributed systems *are* different to centralized.
