Is there a reason my timeline isn't automatically updating on Firefox like it does on chrome?

@selfnoise I think there are two reasons

1. Most people want the "new shiny", even if it isn't any different or better.

2. Some manufacturers hold security updates and bundle them with OS updates. So without updating the underlying system you are stuck with an insecure device.

@hellojed I'm sorry. Are you able to schedule some time off? Do you have a mentor at work that you can lean on for tips to balance demand?

Is it a situational thing, or is there a systemic issue?

I am wiped... waking up with a sinus headache and having it stick around all day is bad enough, but being in a gauntlet of status meetings to boot...

@hellojed I'm sorry. I am in the same boat.

My friends are forcing me to take a "do nothing" evening tonight which is nice, because I don't give myself the permission to relax. It feels like I always need to be working towards something

I keep trying to explain this to friend and family. Some of them check in publicly everywhere, which leaves a nice trail of places they visit and quickly announces when they aren't home.

I've noticed a lot of issues with focus and I've started having people tell me "I don't seem like myself", which means I am past a point of burnout.

It is looking like the two options are
1 - Cabin week with hiking. Preferably somewhere also near a river system so I can go kayaking

2 - Beach trip where all I do is sit out and read. Maybe some snorkeling

Either way I need a trip to just unplug my brain for a bit.

I realized I don't have any long periods of time off scheduled through the rest of the year. I need to fix that. Maybe a nice long weekend in a cabin with some reading and hiking..

@PipeManMusic Oh man, I remember the joy of having my own private bathroom. It is one of the things I miss most.

My company is looking at increasing some of the WFH capabilities and I'm excited to get some days where I can have uninterrupted, heads down time.

I'm glad it is working well for you! Hopefully more places will adopt a distributed mentality. Not having long commutes can bring so much benefit to overall morale

@PipeManMusic What are the positives for you? Have you found you needed to change your environmental layout?

I was working from home for a while, and the biggest hurdle for me was finding the time to turn off work and shift in to "home" mode. Since my office was also where my leisure PC was, it made it hard to not work throughout the day

I'm starting to get that skin crawly feeling at work and I know I need to take some time to get away and reset

But when I think about taking time off, the first thing I go to is "oh good, I'll be able to spend a few days working on all the stuff I need to get done"

Why the hell is my first thought to spend vacation time to work? :/

Why do grapes and plums change their name when dried? Shouldn't the two states (grape/raisin and plum/prune) share some sort of root word?
