I guess I'm lucky: I've only been misgendered twice since growing my hair out. Before I grew a beard one girl came up to me and asked, "Are you a boy or a girl?" I wanted to ask her, "Does it matter?"
Also at Skyview were people spewing the usial right-wing talking points on immigration. My take is that it's very telling that these people talk about going after illegal immigrants but never the people and corporations that employ them. It shows what tneir true motivations are.
Content isn't "free" when there are ads. The longer I work in advertising, the more this idea that content w/ads is "Free" bothers me. It's not free at all. You're paying for it with your time and attention to sponsored content, and how that content then drives you to take actions. It's not "free."
I am so grateful to the Fediverse (and my Instance, Octodon) for many, many reasons. Perhaps one of the biggest ones is the fact that kindness (or as I prefer to call it, earnesty and compassion) is institutionalised here.
It's not the fake sort of kindness that exists elsewhere, but real, genuine kindness that comes from a sincere desire to be there for each other in the familial sense. <3

Mastodon has the only "integrated" queer community I've ever been in; where people closer to the "lesbian" side of things and people closer to the "gay man" side of things not only freely interact, share space, and are friends; but people also freely move between those two sides/categories without controversy or it being a big deal.
It's really nice I like it.
I just blocked my second person today. I entered a debate with them attempting to be civil. They responded by being extremely combative.
I just want to say this to everyone:
I am more than happy to debate you. However, if you are going to be rude, combative and full of accusatory statements towards me, then you will find yourself on my blocklist faster than anything.
I have put up with too many self-righteous a**holes in my life. I will not engage with them here.
