@MissSnarkerson He found out right at the end of the day on his way home. I guess a kindness, since they didn't tell him at the start so he'd stew all day.
He was quiet and obviously upset. I was thankfully on a call and so I had an excuse to be busy and not have small awkward talk as he packed up.
@sonicbooming definitely better than it could have been....and hooray for mgrs at least being kind to him/protecting the rest of you!
@MissSnarkerson Went as well as it could under the circumstances. I'm off for the next two days. So I won't see him until Thursday. Training is on Monday, and by then I'll be in a new group/area. We'll see each other around but it is what it is.
I'm going to suggest we grab a beer next week once things settle down. He's a good friend. :)

Manager has already applied and moving his position from one brand to other.
4 other people on our team all applied to move. We all were accepted. We've all been there less than a year. He's been there for 3+. Ultimately it's on him, poor performance, attendance, etc.
But when leave next week. His desk will be the only one left on that island. He's a good friend. It's just awkward as fuck.
