It is completely alien to me that someone would be so sensitive that they simply refuse to engage at all in any discussion _at all_ simply because they don't want their existing beliefs examined. That kind of blows my mind.

this is a weird situation, where I can't just write whatever I want to, but I have to gauge if what I write might, in some way, possibly offend someone....deep. but it's a feature, not a bug. :-)

Jesus Christ, people, if this was December 1941, everyone would be cowering in their bedroom not being engaged. I am very unhappy with tonight's events, but we need to engage, not hide in our safe spaces.

So this basically feels like a distributed version of Twitter with more characters.
@Migukin I agree. I'm not sure how we got to this place where having a civilized discussion is so difficult. The whole point is to be exposed to a different POV. Safe spaces shouldn't be a thing, but civility should.
