while the idea of being distributed on the backend is cool in theory, in practice, it could see it causing serious trouble for the service if it wants to kill Twitter. but what do I know. I'm just spitballing it

@Migukin I don't think there's antagonism against twitter. Like, this isn't an attempt to 'kill' it. It's more like Mastodon, as an alternative, can just keep surviving while twitter dies, quickly or slowly, or not at all.
