What a gem
The best way to use computers is to rely only on software that is open source, 100% hardware agnostic, and eternal, existing apart from space and time
Wonkette has a piece up that tells the story of one 6-year old girl who memorized her aunt's phone number in case she and her mom got separated for any reason.
The girl is being held by ICE and the aunt, in the US legally on an asylum claim, is afraid to take the girl in because of potential impacts on her own asylum case.
There's more, too. Go. Read. Then call your Rep & Sentators.

Home again home again jiggity-jig. 16C and foggy. Not exactly my preferred weather, but great for uprooting all the damned sun loving invasive weeds.
Bonus! I found two wild strawberries in the process, not yet eaten by the fieldmice. Tiny but very tasty! (The berries, silly, not the mousies).
This plant was covered with bees and butterflies.

Eight hour shift of loafing by the river, throwing sticks for dogs, drinking beer, reading, and napping.

have a good one!
No pictures because I left my phone on the charger by accident. But it was an excellent day: we had to drive to town for doggy meds, and found a good brewpub and drank many tasty beers while the dogs lounged on the cool concrete. Back to camp to splash in the river and throw sticks for the dogs. Then a 1.5 mile sunset walk along the trail with Mercalli, tasty dinner, and now bedtime as soon as this beer is finished. Humans and doggos are dirty smelly tired happy.
Mercalli found the river!
Photogenic fireplace doggo.
Firefish!

RT @pet_temp@twitter.com: Scientists have discovered a new kind of Black Hole that has a gravitational field so intense that no treats or dropped food scraps can escape.
Aaaiiieee! I'm stuck at a banquet table with a couple of reactionary old fogies channeling Infowars.
Fortunately there is a South Asian dance performance to distract from that horror.
Thank you late night mastofolks - you've put smiles at the end of a long day. Night night....
