In the past few days, three of these have appeared, seemingly from nowhere. (One was in my hand (!). One on my leg. Etc.)

I'm stumped. It feels like it's made of metal or a hard plastic. I vote metal. Appears to be blue. Slightly thicker at the ends. Always in this U shape. WHAT CAN IT BE??

@MightyBigCar I cropped most of the white away but I don't know how to make it any higher res using my phone.

@Talyaa thanks for trying. If your camera won't focus when you move in really close there's not much more to be done. Unfortunately, JPEG artifacts are destroying the details of the mystery object, and that makes it hard to identify. What are its rough dimensions?

@Talyaa Is that end to end or width of the strip (the narrow dimension). I'm guessing end-to-end.
