@caloriesman that's the one where the effeminate guy from the EPA harasses a small business about safety regulations, right? That's pretty 80s
@liam_d_mccann try me, you coward
@caloriesman don't go north, trust me. Not yet.
I now own a box set of Round the Twist, or, real life Candle Cove.
@caloriesman escape rooms are Very Good and I have too many friends that like to do them
Anyway, FFXII Zodiac Age: pretty good! There's a lot of polish over the original's systems that make it much more interesting, and I love how nearly every dungeon has some hidden secret to it that uncovers new areas, bosses and abilities. I've also forgotten how big games can be, having spent most of the past half-decade playing either 10-hour AAA rolleycoasters or 2-hour indie darlings. I'm *50* hours in and I think I'm maybe halfway through?
I'm playing FFXII Zodiac Age on my holidays (at home). I'd finally set up Poach, an ability which removes a nearly dead enemy and gives you an item, which was keeping me ahead of the income curve but was slowly falling behind on the XP curve. Turns out, not unrelated: Poached enemies don't give XP.
@caloriesman content warning: functional public transport
Weirdly, there's a lot I actually want to get done this year. I have new year resolutions, but not because you're supposed to, but because I ran out of time to do them in 2017
Impressions of 2018 so far: buses are bad and filled with angry people, trains run much more efficiently than in 2017 and I can actually get a seat
I listened to the #hamilton Original Cast Recording. It was pretty good!
It's probably also overrated, I'm not sure why so many people became obsessed with it.
Merry Christmas, Mastodon.
@DaveHiggins I wondered the same thing! It turns out brandy is really important for a good fruitcake and American recipes don't use alcohol
A friendly reminder to Americans: your fruitcake is bad, get the imported stuff.
You too can have a delicious fruitcake that is soft and moist and you actually enjoy eating

Oh god fuck these ads
Anyway, this week's Christmas Classic I've Never Seen was It's A Wonderful Life Show more
Alright I'm going to see a Star War
I just realised: Hamilton is like one of those bizarre high-concept scripts that the non-conformist main character is writing in a movie, except it got made and was wildly successful.
