wanted: work

I am a copywriter, although I could do a lot of different kinds of writing. I bet I could do technical writing, if it came up. I know about marketing but honestly I don't like doing it very much.

I'm also an editor! And a regular writer! And a lot of other things!

If you know someone who needs me, or what I can do, please suggest me. I'm good at what I do and unemployed!

@Mainebot I'm currently out of work too (though I should have a contract coming in any day now), so I can't offer you anything. But maybe you can advise me a little.

I've got an app on the elementary AppCenter and so far I've been selling it on it's feature list. But as the app nears to be fully featured I think it'll be more helpful for prospective users to describe my design vision (as the feature list is already long for a bare bones app).

@alcinnz don't sell features, sell benefits. Features are meaningless without the context by which they improve the life or experience of the potential user. Have the features listed, but focus on what those features mean :)

@Mainebot do you know that you can self publish for free at amazon. i did and my book is selling there.

@lukespacewalker I do, I minored in Publishing at University, but I don't have a book to sell.

@Mainebot what writings do you have that could be sold? perhaps an anthology or collection?

@lukespacewalker just a collection of short stories and microfiction from school and a pile of so-so poetry.

@Mainebot might be worth a shot. since it's free.
you never know.
30 years ago, i never thought i'd be where i am now. and i'm still 90% short of where i want to be as a writer ;)

@Mainebot I have a tonne of work for people to do. I think you mislabeled, as you really want "income". But I could be mistaken, because I don't have income, and I don't care that my work doesn't provide it. I still want it.

@Mainebot Hello, do you have any tech journalism experience in Linux and FOSS? I'm seeking new writers for features and the tutorial sections.

@ChriThor not explicitly, no. I've written for the official Mastodon blog a bit, but that followed a more social angle than a technical one. I probably wouldn't be the right fit unless you needed an outsider perspective on either.
