I need game suggestions to play with my SO. We like to relax at night and just finished Night in the Woods and it was super adorable and kind of great and made both of us really remember being young in the worst best way.
We like games that are kind of cinematic and interesting and don't involve endless waves of murder. Uncharted is an exception, but we play it like a stealth game. Don't say Mass Effect.
Ideas?
plzhelp D:
@ChristianD I prefer co-op, they prefer to just relax and watch for the most part.
@Mainebot
1) any of the Lego games (my favorite is Lego Star Wars) - mostly solving little puzzles, with light combat
2) Portal 2 - multiplayer puzzle-solving at its finest. And if you haven't played the campaign, it could be enjoyable for you and the SO to figure out the puzzles together
@Mainebot dunno if you've played any of these/they count as relaxing, but Life is Strange, Oxenfree and Firewatch are all fun games that tell good stories (imo)
@Orwellia We both loved oxenfree! That was a good one. I've heard good things about Life is Strange and I can see if they're into the idea. I'm fairly sure I'll like FIrewatch more than they will though.
@Mainebot I played Oxenfree with a pal and it was real good. Same with Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons, and some visual novel games, (like Christine Love's games, We Know the Devil, or this weird cat cafe one) because they're easy to pause and chat about. Chariot and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime are real fun co-op games, less on the cinematic/story thing and more of just a fun thing to do with someone.
I'm looking at doing Divinity: Original Sin because of it's co-op thing too?
@error I didn't know Divinity had a co-op mode. I think strict Fantasy and Sci-fi are tough sells. Like, Heavy Rain was great but Mass Effect was a miss, despite how much I loved it.
@Mainebot yeah! when it came out for the ps4 it got a big update on the pc too. controller support and splitscreen stuff. am very excited to play through when i get time.
I'm not a horror person so I've just got hearsay on this but i hear the first half of Until Dawn is pretty fun to play with pals?
Ooh what about something like the Banner Saga? or Papa y Yo, or Never Alone, or 1979 Revolution: Black Friday?
@Mainebot have you played Inside?
@ChristianD Yeah, we played that one to completion a week or two ago! Such a well-executed experience :)
I've got What Remains of Edith Birch, Firewatch, and for myself a little Scanner Sombre.
What Remains gives both of us motion sickness. I think the FoV is too narrow, and there is a lot of head bobbing.
@Mainebot
Do you prefer collaborative or competitive multiplayer?
