When one of my popular toots boops less and less, I imagine it moving out into the boonies of the fediverse, only occasionally calling back to let me know it's still there.

Every so often, another boop trickles in, and I imagine it moving over an unpaved road in a dark wood, passing like a ghost between candlelit cabins under a starlit sky of blazing connections just out of reach.
