I'm replaying Enemy Unknown at the moment which has reminded me there are other XCOM things I haven't played.
@DaveHiggins XCOM 2, free on the ps4 this month. I'm not sure I like it.
@DaveHiggins I've found it frustratingly difficult, like it frontloaded all the difficulty. XCOM 1 felt better paced.
@Mainebot I've heard that from other people, sometimes expressed as the opposite: once you get a few soldiers to high levels it becomes trivially easy to win everything.
So, I suspect they've optimised for one/two sets of strategies and left the rest patchy.
@Mainebot I've heard mixed things about it.
From what I hear, optimising it for consoles has resulted in taking out the nuance that made the originals interesting.
