Was watching the Northernlion Detroit: Become Human stream/play-through. And he remarked on something that people often avoid confronting.

This future world where androids exist, all the androids have one very specific body type. Everyone is thin in a very specific way.

Assuming we continue to push towards this future, if we're wanting true simulation. Why wouldn't we design/build androids to appear like humans actually appear?

There's a whole host of issues at play here, so I'm just spitballing, feel free to join in and share your ideas/thoughts.

NL made a comment that was basically, “I'd buy a chubby android servant/assistant.”

He said this with a bit of tongue in cheek humor but it's interesting to consider.

Why not design our AI servants/assistants/workers with more diversity?

@sonicbooming It might even be more practical - there'd certainly be more room for the battery packs

If i was manufacturing androids (and im not saying I am) I would want to use as few parts and as little mass as possible. A chubby servitor wit a bunch of batteries might find a use, but at scale I would always tend towards what has the smallest impact on resources.

@Mainebot I can't believe you haven't invited me to tour your android factory
