i think i talked about this before but i had an interesting conversation with my ex about gender neutral words. It was about how they thought that the use of "BROTHERS!" in some old marxist leninist propaganda was inherently patriarchal but I always saw it as transcending gender and being more of a human thing. I think maybe my opinion has changed on this particular issue. I don't know though.

@boobs_idiot People always have to get triggered by any non-gender neutral word referencing an unspecific gender. Like for example, how "man" is used to refer to the whole of mankind.

@Mahaer_Mahmud yeah but the fact that "man" is the gender neutral term is inherently patriarchal in itself, we should try to use gender neutral alternatives as much as we can imo
