A reminder about free/open source software for new ppl:
Twitter is a big corporation that has many programmers, designers, user support ppl, etc. Mastodon doesn't.
We just have average people doing this on the side, often in their underpants at 2 a.m., on a volunteer basis/for donations. It's up to US to help improve Mastodon.

We'll be moving out to Denver in about two months to be closer to partners. While I'm overjoyed about this, I can't help but be incredibly sad when I think about some of the people I'll be leaving behind...
Do you ever watch yourself make a fool of yourself with a sort of detached amazement? Like you know what your doing, but you just can't stop yourself and figure you might as well sit back and watch the results
I downloaded Pokemon TCG online the other day and I think I might have a new special interest?? it's so fun
Fun stuff: not being able to sleep even though you have to be awake in 2 hours

I liked Stephen Colbert's decree:
> From now on, anyone who writes a thinkpiece on millennials forfeits the right to get computer help from a millennial.
Weekends away are fun, but nothing beats sitting at home listening to my cat yell at me because I gave her dry food instead of wet.
What do we want?
CAT NOISES
When do we want them?
MEOW
"Will Mastodon make any money?" scream the journalists, who have forgotten the joy of building sandcastles on the beach
It's probably important to clarify that my roommate is actually a really sweet, good person. He's just a little oblivious sometimes
In case anyone was wondering how to alienate someone with a mental illness...
Roommate, after hearing about my symptoms: "Wow, you're really messed up, huh?"
Me, uncomfortably: "Haha yeah...Without my meds I feel like a little bit of a bad person sometimes."
Roommate: "A LITTLE? Hahaha"
Me and most of my friends experience some kind of mental illness, so I'm used to people just knowing what I'm talking about in regards to my symptoms. Sometimes I'm taken aback by reminders that neurotypical people actually exist and are able to function normally...
I like it. Make Mastodon more like Tumblr, but with less fuckery from staff and less need for stuff like xKit. Yes pls, sounds good.
If people leave because all of the SJWs and queers are coming in and “spoiling” the place, GOOD.
Ugh, I've been manic the past few days, and feeling a little alone. Might be a bit of a longshot, but anyone else on here #bipolar ? I'm the only person I know irl who is, and I'm always interested in connecting with others who can relate!
I can't sleep so here's some validation:
Your problems are "enough". You don't have to earn anyone's approval to feel bad about something going on in your life. We all have problems, and yes some problems are bigger than others, but they are still just as important and vital and painful to us when we're experiencing them.
Take the time you need to experience your pain. Name it, process it, and then take care of yourself. Give yourself permission to treat yourself with love. You deserve it.

Re: my last repost...
The idea that a #queer person can't know they're queer unless they've had a romantic/sexual connection, but straight people are considered straight from birth, makes me REALLY ANGRY.
Interesting how mania can like. WAY change the way you experience things. #bipolarproblems
