Women March throughout USA & the world today, yet no comments here. WOW!
Can't someone at least give a shout out to all the great women in cute little pink hats that march for the rights of women everywhere?!
@jassange Thank you for posting. There does seem to be a lack of coverage of this issue. So tired of all the double standards these days, most of which are promoted by our media. I like to be a free thinker and make up my own mind, but it can be exhausting trying to ferret out the truth, especially in regards to newsworthy issues that get absolutely NO coverage! Thanks for your efforts to reveal truth.
A multi-billion dollar TV network blackmailing a private citizen into not making funny videos about it is not journalism, CNN. #CNNBlackmail source: https://twitter.com//JulianAssange/status/882440859370868737 #twitterbot
@pzmyers What is the issue? Where was the complaint filed?
@A_Noyd Yup yup. Got it. Thanks for your thoughts. Love that witty moniker of yours. It always makes me smile. I see what looks like a photo of a fiddlehead there. Crazy about fiddleheads- and they are so healthy. So one more time, before moving on, thanks.
(It's been an exceptionally long day & I forgot to hit reply on previous message. So, just want to be sure you are properly thanked for engaging).
Just a few more things, A. Noyd. Love that clever, witty moniker you selected. It put a smile on my face every time I read or typed it.
Also, looks like you have a photo of a fiddlehead there. Just love them! They are so good for you, too.
So, before we move on there, thanks for your thoughts. I wish you well.
OK, A. Noyd. Clearly I irritate you. Clearly, you don't care to acknowledge that I just may have a great deal of experience in my field. So, let's just move on.
Hopefully, we can at least agree on THAT!
A Noyd, you are certainly correct that you have every right to your opinion, and I sincerely appreciate and respect that. I do not, however, accept that you have the right to proceed with incorrect assumptions about me. I have lived in the conditions I speak of. I do listen to others, but do not accept as truth everything they say, especially when they have far less personal experience than I do.
A. Noyd, I was NOT born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I had scarlet fever as a child because my mother NEVER would spring for an MD visit & now I have heart damage. So please don't make assumptions about me.
I say that not as a complaint- just to point out that you make such judgements and have such little data. And so you know, I have actually worked with these populations as a licensed professional.
You said many people were complaining. You need to listen to those people—the "complainers."
Your opinions, however well-meant, sound like they come from a very privileged place. Poverty is a terribly complex issue (with multiple, intersecting populations) and if you want to really help people at the policy level, you have to know more of the intricacies and realities of what they deal with. You have to let THEM tell you what they need, what works and what doesn't work.
So Craig, which UK show about rural vicar do you refer to? Father Brown? Grantchester?
The UK really likes their shows about rural vicars don't they?
Craig, I'm having a good day, thank you. I just got back from a long walk with my wonderful dog, and fellow dog walkers. Now I am going to get cracking on preparing something tasty & healthy for lunch.
I hope your day is going well, too.
Thank you so very much for asking
Good morning. How's the day so far?
A Noyd, I think you may have confused me with someone else. I never used the word complainer. The program as written excludes those already working, as well as those caring for children or disabled at home. I have worked
with folks in this population and it's my opinion that their often self imposed isolation is one of their biggest obstacles. It leads to depression, physical inactivity and worse. You should also know that education is an alternate to the work requirement.
Phenology, it's true that many of these folks are caregivers. This program excuses those with small children, disabled or elderly relatives to care for.
In my state, there is even a program that pays family caregivers to care for relatives at home that would otherwise qualify for state reimbursed nursing home care. I support this second program too. Caring for such a person at home is a tremendous undertaking, but if you can do it- certainly preferable.
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback.
@MIDDLEoftheroad2018 except many of these people are doing unpaid care work already.
WOW! Guess Twitter got that toot of mine. Magically un-shadow banned today! But that's the thing, Mastodon welcomed me. I just love that the rules are public. I don't want to be part of a community where people are shut down for having different ideas. Might as well be in colonial era Salem where they burned those who were too different. I feel safe here. I feel free to be me.Thanks Mastodon! Bye bye Twitter!
@Twitter
Well that's nice. It would be even nicer were you to allow a polite exchange of ideas, even from those with viewpoints you don't agree with. There is a world to be said for the free exchange of ideas. It's just NOT nice to shadow ban your client base because you may not agree with some of their stances. Clients get really turned off and abandon you. Just saying.....
