Medicaid reform
So, in the US, several states have introduced health care reforms that require able bodied people who receive free health insurance from the government to perform some public volunteer service. Many people are complaining. I think this might actually be a great policy as it requires people who are able to get out of the house, become more physically active and more engaged with their community. These are all things known to contribute to a healthy lifestyle!

@MIDDLEoftheroad2018 except many of these people are doing unpaid care work already.

That's some rather astonishing ignorance of how poverty works.

Poor people are more engaged with their communities than any other class. They have to be to get by. And many get so much physical activity working tough jobs or multiple jobs that it destroys their bodies. Yet they still can't get disability.

The last thing they need is more hoops to jump through.

Start actually listening to the "complainers," and find out what really keeps people in poverty.
