So how cool would it be if I wrote a fantasy series based around short and long stories about the dwarven people of the earth, in which they ultimately control the entire world and subjugate the other races?
I don't even want to hear about free speech. You aren't entitled to someone else's attention. Trolling is not a Constitutional right. You want to do that, spin up your own instance.
And certainly, someone could start a free-speech-anarchist instance with all pest controls off. For mastodon.social, though, I think they have a real responsibility to crack down on this shit.
The right to abuse is not about freedom. It silences people. It restricts freedom and expression—it never enhances it.

@sean You don't have to use it for gaming, they just target that market. I have one set up for my work that just myself and a coworker go into for the voice chat.
@sean I love IRC, but Discord has made a really decent replacement what with how easy it is to go between text and voice chat, while also being organized by servers related to your interests or niche groups.

@potentato Heh, well I follow a lot of very profilic tweeters over in the bad part of the internet, so I'm used to the firehose effect on Tweetdeck. The Federated TL made me feel right at home since nobody in it is a Nazi :D
