Cut 1000 words today, but lost all that gain when I decided to carry some secondary characters into another couple chapters. I guess I'll know it's a good move once it's done and I see if I want to dump whisky on my keyboard.

Oh, and it's in Japanese. Go for the subtitles. Watching Japanese shows dubbed in English is just dumb. (Same goes for anime.)

A principles-based standard strikes me as a rules-based standard without clearly enunciated rules.
You know, in my early days on the birdsite (10y ago, yigoonie) there was much a similar atmosphere to here — well, actually more like the busier instances. I was late for an early adopter, user 1M+, but even then it was *social*. Then as it got busier I fought the tide. I unfollowed rapid tweeters. I tried to read every tweet.
Then I let go and just let the noise take over. I heard what I heard and didn't worry about what I missed.
But this reminds me of those old days. That's friggin awesome.
