When people make the argument that privacy tools are unnessesary, they are speaking from a very privledged place where they don't have to worry about exploitation, violence or social stigmitization. This seems to be really lacking in the conversation about personal security and privacy.

On the flip side you hear people defend criminal activity, online trolling, abuse, etc on secure froms of communication as a nessesary evil for privacy to be secured.

Who is part of the sec community matters.

A reporter for #KRIK, the Serbian partner of @OCCRP, spotted #Belgrade, #Serbia’s mayor Sinisa Mali last Sunday in the business class section of an #AirSerbia flight.

Mali was apparently visiting #Rome for a long weekend and staying in a five-star luxury hotel on a popular shopping street in the heart of Rome’s historical center, reporters learned. On the basis of the tickets and the hotel stay alone, the trip cost at least 7 months of Mali’s salary, KRIK estimates.
