Blog post: Why I don't like seed stitch

The recipient of the hat likes it very much & apparently it's quite warm. #fiberarts #knitting
I’ve published my review of the Addi Flexiflips knitting needles on my blog: https://gannetdesigns.com/2018/02/19/product-review-addi-flexiflips-needles/
Summary: they’re a set of three needles that are essentially like flexible double-pointed needles (three circular needles with very short cables, meant for knitting small things in the round. I like them a lot, and will be gradually acquiring sets in all the sizes. Important: try before you buy, if at all possible.
Me as a kid: I can't wait to grow up, you can do whatever you want!!!
Me right now, making chicken nuggets at 12.15 AM: I was absolutely right this is dope as fuck
When I was partway through knitting this shawl, I blocked it on the needles because there was something I needed to know. Now it’s an excellent before-and-after illustration of the value of stretching lace out when blocking. Both parts are the same stitch pattern.
(Or it *was* a good example. It’s soaking in the bathtub. I’m about to stretch the whole thing out on the bed with wires and pins and point a fan at it so it will be dry by bedtime.)

Alisa, how many repetitions of each lace should there be? (or how many stitches at the start of each section?) I think I messed up the first section.
Test knitters are the best knitters!
#fiberarts #knitting my February Knitalong scarf is stalled, I've gotten sucked into an old computer game, ordering gnomes around. Darn you, Gnomoria. https://octodon.social/media/DZFk8-5cUDV84g4CbZs
Phew. Writing a knitting pattern is hard work, y'all.
In other breaking news, water is wet and the sky is sometimes blue.
#fiberarts #knitting I have no uncomplicated project right now, and soon I'm going to the bouldering hall with my nieces, and I don't want to climb today. So I'm going to knit a bit, and I want to start a new project. I really love my tubularity cowl lately and I want to make a second one. I wonder if I can find someone to give it to. because for me, one is plenty.
This week's #knitting blog post is a free cable stitch pattern encoding the word "quip", using what I learned because of last week's experiment. (So you see, that time wasn't wasted.)

Found on Facebook.
I think this is very apt. The whole point here is to try and change things going forward and for those who still want to learn.

in summer I taught a friend at a camp the first steps of knitting. I lend them my needles, assuming they would continue.
now I got the needles back via mail, but their first knitted bit was still on them.
I have the feeling that this first bit of knitting is something to worship and not just frog.
i would at least bind it off and give it back to the friend.
or do you have another nice and little effort idea, how to treat that bit of fabric?
I'm really getting so much #knitting done and it's so relaxing <3 <3 #fiberarts
I... I feel like text may not be the best way to explain this pattern I'm writing but I don't know how otherwise? #fiberarts #crochet https://witches.town/media/8SpvGAfmIs9BS0ow0Iw
After many prototypes and a lot of math and charting, I did it! I made a tiny cable/braid sweater. 😄
