If there's a way to make nachos, my husband will find it 😂
HOWEVER, there is controversy, as some readings of the hieroglyphs would have his name, literally translated into English, as "Mr. Goodbar"
Here we go -- it still needs to have a border crocheted on, but my co-worker is doing that part. My work is done. (Well, six more ends to weave in, and one more pass to steam-block it again)
Good morning! I woke up to a stack of new follower-friends and a few boosts! Hooray for posting fiction on Masto?
Now that I've thawed a bit & groceryed a bit, I can finally post more progress pictures of the Tentacle Bag Mark II!
Both the main compartments (which I've been calling pouches) are done & you can just make out the waste yarns in the outer one; White for the straps & Green for various tentacles.
Took a picture of the top too so you can see how the pouches nest.
Next, I have to make decisions about what color(s) to make the various add-ons!

Deliberate holes, hmm. living in the frozen north, I'm not that into lace. I tend to do more sweaters shawls hats, but I do have one lace project I did for my mother in law .

Today’s buttonholes I tried out for #yarnuary look pretty similar.
The bottom one is an afterthought buttonhole: https://blog.loveknitting.com/elizabeth-zimmermans-afterthought-buttonhole/
The top one is a waste yarn buttonhole. https://fionawinning.blogspot.com/2007/10/nameless-buttonhole.html
I like the waste yarn one better than anything else so far, but the afterthought one could certainly be handy.
I haven’t really compared different knitted buttonholes before, so #yarnuary seemed like a reason to try this out. I found these two on this page from TECHKnitter: http://techknitting.blogspot.com/2012/03/horizontal-buttonholes-including-new.html
I made them different sizes, but oh well. The first one is less fiddly and less symmetrical. It also feels less durable. The Tulips buttonhole is fiddly, but it is tidier.
Tomorrow I'll look for other methods.
Finished! I made it through about 2 reps of the stripes before I ran out of yarn. @mastokal2017 @yarnuary
So I’m finally getting near the end of #mastokal2017 and I’m running out of yarn. I started with exactly the yardage they suggested so I guess maybe I just knit large?? Anyway, I can see that I’m going to run out during the striped, before I get to the seed stitch section. Did anyone else have this issue? Should I just stop when I run out? It seems like no one would notice anyway but I’m curious as to what others might have done. #yarnuary
#knitting #yarnuary I am attempting to knit a shawl.
I am using this pattern ( https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-summer-shawl ) but I am using cheap white yarn that I have to hand partly because I am poor and partly because this is a practice piece.
I'm discussing the problem with saying "female" when you mean to say "woman" with a group of good people at work. However, some of them think the biggest problem with "female" is that it's an adjective while "woman" is a noun.
I think the bigger problem is that "female" is sex, and "woman" is gender, and you should never say e.g. "a female developer" when you really mean to say a developer is a woman.
Thoughts? Personal feelings are appreciated, DM if you like, I will keep everyone anonymous.
Finally got the pictures I took of Viking Eclipse Godbaby jacket and hat off of the camera.

#yarnuary update: stripes! And I found the perfect pin to go with this shawl.
The sunshine coming through the windows on the cold afternoon were interrupted by shadows in movement. My wife looked up from her work. I glanced up from a book. The dog went on sleeping. Another burst of shadow. We went to the window. A flock of sparrows, moving together in that strange frequency pattern they do that suggests collective intelligence, was foraging. Tree to tree, lawn to lawn. In energetic bursts of flight. And then, as quick as that, they were gone with no trace. #smallstories
"Just as the tobacco industry gained decades of huge profits by obfuscating the dangers of smoking, the oil industry secured decades of profits ... by helping to create a fake controversy over climate science that deceived and victimized many policymakers, as well as much of the public."
