I think this might be the first fingering-weight hat I've ever knitted for myself.
Partner and I came up with an ingenious invention to hold our T pins: a metal candy tin with magnets in the bottom so they don't all fall out when a cat inevitably knocks the whole thing over.
sometimes, when people ask a question on social media that could easily be answered with a google search, maybe it's not so much that they're looking for an answer as to make a connection with other people who are also interested in the subject
I'm a great role model, as I am clearly a nonbinary trans person with a rather nb-masculine look, enjoying #fiberarts in public while not giving a shit about stereotypes and people's opinions. Kids should see people like me out on the streets a lot more.

After a literal day of "research", I finally gathered enough courage to sign up here and toot.
Hello! The name is Renata.
I've always struggled with pursuing my interest(s) actively because I worry too much about failing, and that includes Mastodon. It can be daunting for new users, like, I'm afraid I may quit because I don't "get" it. But I've heard a lot of good things and I want to feel at home on the internet again, so, I'm hoping to find a friendly bunch here :)
One nice thing about having access to a big printer is that I can think "I want more colorful posters" one day, and put these up on the office wall the next day.

You are allowed to do stuff just because you want to.
Even if it uses up all your spoons/matches.
Even if it leaves your exhausted and broken the next day.
Even if you need to let other stuff slide a bit while you recover.
You are allowed to have fun, to go out, to take a day once in a while and do what you want with it.
Being #disabled, or #chronicallyill, or a #parent, etc doesn't mean you can't take time for you.
(I needed to hear this today, so I figured other folks might too.)

Now I have cookies. Sour cherry and "unicorn" flavoured cookies.
I also have a mild sugar high.
