The Democratic party of Minnesota is running a half-day of training tomorrow for pro-choice Democratic women who are interested in running for office.
And if you're a pro-choice woman in Minnesota, I ask that you go. We need more perspectives in politics than a bunch of old, white guys.

@NeuroWinter I had a little "blip" where my timelines wouldn't load. But then everything came back.

So WEIRD! I looked through that emoji list three times to make sure the atom had actually gone, but after I finally gave up and changed it to something else it reappeared in the list!
Hooray?
My little atom emoji disappeared from the emoji list and my profile. I am surprisingly, disproportionately bummed out about it. I guess the radioactive symbol will have to work in its place.

I love my job, but sometimes working in an academic/medical library can provide unfortunate reminders that my fellow human beings have weird, and apparently painful predilections: https://octodon.social/media/dufa8bqM6UkvesuNvCY
@ink_slinger A nice cutting board is always a nice gift if you are giving it to someone that cooks. Or alternatively, a pair of ukuleles is certain to be a hit.
Another indictment of the American system of public K-12 education?

@jason Maybe it's the amount of gray in my beard, but I prefer print. I don't read ebooks on my phone, don't own an ebook reader, and I don't carry other devices (laptop, etc.) with me unless forced. Besides, it's an excellent time of year for reading outside, and print is a magnificent medium for outdoor reading. I spend the majority of my working day in front of screens. It is a pleasure to get away from them any chance I get!
@jason Hi Jason. I haven't. I'll look for it. As luck would have it, I work in an academic library, so if we don't hold that title, I'll bet I can get a copy through interlibrary loan!
Interesting read.
