Removed systend from my arch installation. Didn't go smooth as butter but now that it's done it already proves to be an improvement. I was able to attend shutdown the laptop without issues and rebooting is a breeze. Tomorrow it will have to prove itself during work. Hopefully won't run against to many issues.

Ok ok Orange is the new black picked up and delivered some outstanding episodes again. Now the long.....long wait for season 6 starts. That is the worst bit of binge watching.

Hmm season 5 of Orange is the new Black kind of disappoints so far. And I am a huge fan of the rest of the series. Hope it'll get better or less boring soon!

Despite being Friday covfefe!

So, to simulate what would happen if I try to remove systemd, it would be fantastic if I could take my whole setup (partitions) and make them in to virtualised versions so I could simulate everything in a virtual box.. There has to be a simple way of doing this right?

Logged in to an old account on mega.nz as it was about to expire. Hoping to find hidden treasures long forgotten. I'm gravely disappointed. So back to work I suppose.

The typos in my previous post make sad. No way to edit on Mastodon. Oh well they will be there, immortalised for ever!

@dennix good point, i'll make sure my backup is done first and then I will most try and remove systemd with the help of systemd-free.org/ hope it will work... I do see that removing gnome is necessary, which isn't a bad thing, but trying to remove gnome myself results in a bucket load of stuff that will be removed which I actually want to keep....

Djeez, I am getting tired of myself. I am really happy with my Arch install and wouldn't want to distro hop AGAIN. Yet, minor systemd issues start to piss me off. For one on my work laptop, shutdown just hangs the system (only does a proper shutdown every once in a while). Just tiny things take me good bleh, now I can try the arch without systemd guid but am kind of scared about it....

Vimium for Chrome has been a blessing, less mouse usage and faster navigation. Highly recommended.

Hmpf, friday starts of bad with stuff that doesn't work.... I truly dislike working on legacy stuff, it's just so tiring.

Falling back in love with Ruby and Rails, am I (too) late to the party? Should instead focus on dotnet?

Yeeee I can finally checkout octodon again. What happened? Was worried this instance was dead.

my eyes are burning of this legacy code.... save me!

@quinterbeck well this is my second week. Their reaction is best summed up like this I suppose media1.giphy.com/media/Adqe9XU

Tomorrow I'll be touching some legacy code at my new workplace. If the reaction of my co-workers is any indication I am in for a surprise.
