@b @kensanata By the way, I don't think I'm the one with the solutions, but I've read all the rants with the so-called with problems Mastodon, and I'm just thinking on alternative for dealing this on a high level... I don't think I have the definitive answers anyway
Anyway, I think Mastodon is as all others social networks in his beggining, trying to structure himself and finding their own protocols (in all senses, tech or not) and so. It somewhat nice to see it frowing
I think some of the Mastodon problems about usernames and so could be solved by a federated trusted login/user server apart from the messaging server itself. So, a user could create his login on a server and use it on other servers, somewhat like a Kerberos/AD system

I think that Mastodon and others, like Diaspora and Scuttlebutt are empowering back users.
