Morning acts of tiny rebellion:
picked and ate handfuls of mulberries and serviceberries on the verge of falling off and littering the sidewalks
rode my bike to work (4th time this week!)
watched a spotted fawn suckle its mother (as I pedaled up the hill past it)
decided to endeavor to not be a jerk in some moment where I might feel entitled to be a jerk
hoped I have raised a fierce and gritty child
thought about strawberries

Thereβs a tree coming down across the street from my gardening job here in Olympia. I hear the chipper and get all excited
Chips! Chips! I want! I want! Take them to my house!

A lovely little (mangled) butterfly I found. Translucent wings, red spots on the (dorsal?) under side.

An evening with my 11 year-old, playing "Hallelujah" on our guitars, listening to different versions-- Cohen was a must to give her perspective on her favorite version, Buckley for the emotional beauty of his guitar...
I'm finally enjoying my kids. I mean *really* enjoying them.
I am so, so thankful for my music and my yoga that have carried me through these last four years. I don't know where I'd be without them.
