overthinking as performance art

#GirlScouts fucking rocks.
Yes, I'm going to try the transcription feature on my voice recording app, but I don't have much hope in its efficacy. Even I don't understand the casual jargon and acronyms tossed around in this group. I suspect an app would just annoy me, but I'm giving it a try next meeting.
PS This is me in avoidance mode. Back into the transcription mines y'all.
Just a note about transcription from oral to written: 30 minutes of spoken time takes about 2 or 3 hours of listening and summarizing just for the first draft. ☹️
Alright! 30 minutes of transcription from last week's meeting DONE! Only
two
more
hours
to go.

A sign that I don’t read real books as much as I should: I check the time at the top of the page.
#Seattle, December 7, #VNVNation and #DeVision (De/Vision) will be at the Neptune theater in the U District. Presales start Wednesday 6/13 at 10am.
I fucking love the Neptune. This is going to be epic.

I’m at work, apparently caught in the Way Back Machine:
I discovered #DepecheMode while they were still in their quirky, industrial phase, so it’s no surprise that I consider “Told You So” to be THE best song on CTA.
Disagree? Fight me.
As a further evidence of its superiority, I offer up the song from Live In Hamburg (which I owned on VHS 😳). The sound is out of synch (which makes Fletch look even more useless, while Dave & Alan are still, well, Dave & Alan. 🤩)

it has become deep and nuanced in meaning, and I know now why I love Gilmour’s guitar most of all: the way the notes linger while they pull at your heart and then once caught, the notes cascade down as you tumble with them. No other guitar is as emotionally articulate.
The album has other, darker emotional connotations that I’ll write about next. It’s truly a pivotal album, the ultimate concept album in every sense of that word. It ended a musical era, with a finale as huge as “In the Flesh”.
Once a year, usually at the start of summer, I go on a #PinkFloyd binge. Musically, this album is brilliant, but as a whole it’s so dark and twisted, I’ve thought many times how unlikely it was that this album was so phenomenally popular.
I listened to this when I was young enough to not have any clue what “break my balls” meant, but my true immersion was the year after high school graduation (‘87) when I’d listen in my car, volume at 11, likely 10,000 times.
Decades later...
I’ve seen #VNVNation twice in the last 1.5 years, could I possibly be excited about their North American tour date announcement (tomorrow 1PM EST)?
HELL
YES!!!!
I’m already there. I’m thinking about what clothes to wear. I’m making sure my calendar will be empty. I’m hoping to god the show doesn’t land on a test day, because one of the family is going to have to “die” for me to reschedule. My alarm is set, and it will be set for ticket sales.
I’m feeling pretty... dorky right now.
I've been taking minutes for a salmon recovery group that is part of a process for assessing, prioritizing, and funding restoration projects in the Chehalis River basin, from its headwaters (including all its tributaries) to Grays Harbor and the Pacific. Really interesting stuff that I'm eager to wrap my head around, and can I say
I hate this job.
