The curio cabinet I inherited now contains only its own key.

Interpret that as you will.

@brook @Iuckyduck This sounds like some best-forgotten 70s fashion trend for men, probably in plaid... or crocheted... or crocheted plaid. Definitely with a belt.

@mcmoots That sounds like a great concept, but, Seattle, right? Too many people, always.

@mcmoots Sorry, 35th ave NE. Fucking Seattle streets.

@mcmoots Are you in the north end? There used to be a tree company situated where NE 35th intersected with LCW. I’d always call, they’d always say they had a long wait list, I always got chips the next day because I was convenient. It got to the point they would tell me that and I’d think “Yeah, right” and sure enough.... 😊

The entirety of life is the universe asking you "what is true?" and you struggling to come up with an answer other than "nothing" until you die

When you don’t garden professionally much anymore:

There’s a tree coming down across the street from my gardening job here in Olympia. I hear the chipper and get all excited

Chips! Chips! I want! I want! Take them to my house!

... 30 miles away.

DRAT!

@compostablespork PS Maybe in the strict sense of “pedantic”, but it has negative connotations which your correction didn’t.

@compostablespork Science geek here. You can’t get pedantic with me. Thanks for pointing out the mixup. 😊

A lovely little (mangled) butterfly I found. Translucent wings, red spots on the (dorsal?) under side.

@nev

Saying goodnight to my daughter, she said, “Wake me up before you go.”

(You know how this ends.)

@memnus That 's my sentiment as well. I love the first, distant view of the city that disappears behind the hills, then reemerges, so close to you, at the spot where you took your photo.

Welcome home!
