Hoquiam is, by far, my favorite library in our regional system. The stairs creak. It smells of old books. I only want an ancient horsehair-and-leather easy chair to slide into, and Iβd be in heaven.

@seachanged Thanks for looking that up! It's a pretty building, humble but with all the Carnegie library hallmarks. We have a few of those libraries around here (surprisingly) though most are concentrated in Seattle (not surprisingly). None have the been-this-way-for-decades feel to them like Hoquiam, and none smell quite as wonderful. I'm still missing the right arm chair, though.

Upon checking, it appears that it is indeed a Carnegie Library (from 1911). It's Prairie Style, like the Carnegie library in my hometown.
