on the topic of Pokémon. I'm very looking forward to the translation patch for the Spaceworld 97 proto of Pokémon Gold. Even if vastly unfinished, it must be so wild to play, like a digital time capsule.

Started playing Pokémon Prism (~1h). Very very impressive ROM hack so far, will nicely fill up the 2nd-gen craving I've been having recently all without feeling like I'm replaying a game I've played 15years ago 😅

But the centralization part would be worrying no matter the buyer, mind you.

I personally don't think MS is gonna ruin GitHub, or that suddenly they're going to go all Windows-copyrighty on the software hosted on it.
That'd be an incredibly stupid move given theirs actions in open source in the recent years.

BUT: of course the whole thing is a bit worrying re: centralization and depending on how Microsoft handles the acquisition, it might kill GitHub because Microsoft isn't notoriously good at keeping acquisitions in a good state.

I'll take "Has a shitty policy over Windows' copyright but largely contributes to open-source" over "has a hip image but builds military AI" thank you.

If anything I'd prefer Microsoft to acquire Github than say...Google.

Microsoft is not a perfect company but it's not the 2000s anymore and I'm a bit annoyed by the usual "Microsoft: Bad™" takes. Especially when other comp like Google/FB are actually doing harmful things in present days 🤷

Love having to disable minification on my browser extension because Mozilla reviewers won't accept minified variable names to be different at every build, like I have any control over that shit 🙄
