I saw this numpad on Drop and I absolutely want a whole keyboard board with that translucent look 🥺
It took me less than a week to go from "gee, i love these new keycaps" to "fuck it i want to build my own translucent/old-Apple-lik keyboard"
Bring back translucent electronics, cowards.
If you know of any board with a similar look...... ping me
It dawned on me that I guess you _could_ repurpose the A1048 Apple Keyboard with a modern PCB/switches/caps but... I have no use for a numpad 😞
I guess you could cut the plastic but that sounds...risky (and you'd need to put it back together and that'd be ugly af)
@Eramdam the fonts on those keycaps are 🔥 tho, ngl
@null Yeah, old Apple keycaps had amazing fonts.
@Eramdam the switches beneath them however, ehhhhh. not a huge fan of how mushy mine is.
@null yeah, my only exposure to a keyboard from that era was, like, the desktop transculent one that shipped with the white iMacs and yeah, they weren't great switches
@Eramdam full numpad looks nice tho… but yeah x.x
heck this keyboard is peak aesthetic tho
@null i mean full numpad looks nice but...like... i really have no use for it and it's not worth the space loss :P
