Hey sysadmin friends, I'm getting myself a (newer) dedicated server to eventually retire the current one I have.

Any good resources on how to set up this boi properly? My current one is a mess patched up together over the years and I want to learn how to do that shit right so I'm all ears.

It won't go further than just a small webserver and a file-exchange-client-that-youre-probably-familiar-with so I guess it shouldn't be too complex.

Also, should I stick with Debian/Ubuntu? I remember hating apt with a passion but at least I have some knowledge on those, as opposed to /any other distro/

@Eramdam Well, it Just Works™ (at my previous two job we used Ubuntu Server in production and everything ran perfectly fine)
