Love Twitter, the website where someone will tell you that a word whose meaning is clear to approximately everybody is "not used anymore" and "not learnt by anybody" therefore you shouldn't use it 🙄

As someone using English as a second language, I always freak out when someone corrects me because I fear I made a (big) mistake. But in this case it was just a case of pedantry 😪

@Eramdam Honestly, I would just tell them to fucking google it like someone who isn't a knob. :blobcoffeeunamused:

@Jo I showed them fucking Merriam Webster but no apparently it's not enough

@Jo i dont wanna judge but also lol at the irony of a dude whose first language isn't English either trying to teach me the usage of an English word 🙃

@Eramdam @Jo not quite teaching your grandmother to suck eggs, but in the same realm of pointlessness

@a_breakin_glass the word was "kaput", as in "X is kaput / doesn't work".

@Eramdam @a_breakin_glass "kaput" is a great word and I don't know why anyone with a sense of style would use "corrupted" instead. sounds like that guy is a doofus.

@crlf @a_breakin_glass corrupted doesn't even make sense in the sentence, it beats me
